Altar Guild
The Altar Guild of St. Paul’s cares for the altar space in the sanctuary and makes the necessary preparations for Sunday worship.
This preparation involves the appointment of the paraments (coverings) on the altar, pulpit and lectern. Banners on the wall and behind the altar are changed to match the changing seasons of church worship. The Altar Guild cares for the linens and the candles on the altar. They also manage the appointment of flowers on the chancel space.
Holy Communion is a big part of the task of the Altar Guild. They prepare the elements of bread and wine for Communion, clean up after worship, and constantly maintain the vessels used for Holy Communion.
