ST. PAUL'S LUTHERAN CHURCH

URGENT NOTICE!

To all at St. Paul’s:

Grace and peace to you from our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

In the midst of unprecedented times as the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) continues to escalate, we are forced as a congregation to review and adjust our current practises.

As a consequence, St. Paul’s Church Council has decided to suspend all worship services effective immediately and this suspension will remain until further notice. As well, we are suspending all congregational meals, groups and committee meetings and our building will be closed to all user groups, again until further notice.

St. Paul’s Church Council will meet on Sunday, March 29th, by teleconference call to review our situation. At that time, we will either continue with the suspension of such activities or lift the suspension. If the suspension continues as of that date, we will set another deadline for review.

Throughout all of this, we will continue to update you on our current status.

Despite these measures we will continue to be the church; we may have to come up with some creative ways of being the church but we will ensure that we find ways to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and to provide community and deepen our sense of belonging to this wonderful congregation.

Live-Streaming Worship
  • We are seeking ways to live-stream worship at 10 a.m. on Sundays so that you can access worship in your home. We will let you know how to access should we have that ready for you.

Giving
  • During the suspension of worship services in the church building, St. Paul’s still needs your support.   The staff of St. Paul’s will be working hard to offer resources for spiritual direction and community-building as well as Administrative and Custodial support. There are a couple of ways you can continue your contributions:

  1. Write a cheque or a series of post-dated cheques and mail to:
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
                      12145 Laity St.Maple Ridge, B. C.     V2X 5A7
Drop off your offering (cash or cheque) in the mail slot that can be found on the north-west corner of the church building, facing Laity St.

  1. We are exploring other options for giving and if we are able to develop those, we will certainly advise you.

Meanwhile we continue to pray for the healing and comfort of all who are affected by this pandemic, physically and spiritually. We move forward as God’s people in this time and place confident in the words of Jesus that we find in Scripture:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid”
(John 14:27).

May God bless us all as we seek to be faithful to our calling as God’s people.
