Worship in September
At its August meeting, your Church Council re-committed itself to opening our building on Tuesday, September 7th, the day after Labour Day. Council made this decision earlier, on the assumption that the Province of BC will continue to uphold the provincial variance put in place on July 1st. The variance established on July 1st gave us greater freedom and opportunities to hold worship, most notably, the opportunity to sing.
If the provincial variance remains, we will be holding in-person worship on Sunday, September 12th and every Sunday after that date. For the moment, in-person worship will begin at 10 a.m.
ZOOM WORSHIP will continue every Sunday as well. Beginning with September 12th and beyond, we will follow the in-person worship with a Zoom worship service at 11:30 a.m. We are not sure what the provincial variance will look like on September 12th during in-person worship, so for the moment we will advise you that we will continue to follow the protocols we established for our July 11th and August 8th in-person worship services. This means recommending masking (although you can sing without your mask), observing distancing as much as possible, picking up hymnals and bulletins at the door, putting your offering in plates provided on the table in the entrance area and providing your contact information.
As in the past, the Covid-19 pandemic has been very fluid and conditions change in the blink of an eye. For the moment, this is our plan but if conditions change we will advise you as quickly as possible.
